Web hosting is like renting a store from a shopping centre operator. Except, instead of renting a bricks-and-mortar store, you are renting space on our computers. We take care of running the computers, backing-up the hard drives, supplying the air conditioning and the backup power generators, leaving you to do what you do best - running your business.
When you set-up your store within the shopping centre, you design the inside of the store, the signs, the lighting and the displays, when you rent your Web space from Oyster you control how your pages look, what information is displayed, etc. You can have the Oyster Internet Services team build those pages for you, or you can do it yourself, using a software package like Microsoft FrontPage 2000.
Once your web pages are built, you'll be ready to put them up on your Web site and start marketing your business to over 240 million people worldwide - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pricing
The monthly charge for our Web Site Hosting service is $20.00* per 30MB of file space (occupied by your Web Site) plus a one-time set-up fee of $55.00*. Other charges may include Domain Name Registration.
To host your Web Site with Oyster you will need to complete an Additional Internet Services Appplication form, which can be obtained from Oyster by:
• Sending E-mail to info@oyster.net.ck with your fax number and the name of your Web Site.
• Calling one of our Sales & Service staff on 123 from within Rarotonga, or on 0800 1234 from elsewhere within the Cook Islands.
• Coming to our Customer Services area at the Telecom Centre in Avarua, Rarotonga.
